As a young man, Darrell studied both traditional and modern upholstery techniques at High Wycombe College. He began his career at his father’s large furniture and upholstery company in Reading – developing skills and building knowledge of all aspects of the business – and then went to set up the company’s re-upholstery division in Birmingham. He then started his own business, converting the cloth interiors of new Jaguars, Porsches and Mercedes to leather, and restoring vintage car trimmings

Darrell and his brother then expanded the business into new and re-upholstery of office furniture which is where they spent 17 years building up a successful business. Darrell now has his own re-upholstery company specialising in bespoke furniture and re-upholstery.
